Larry, you are a brave soul, and though I never knew you I admire you tremendously. My prayers are with your family that they can know peace, and with all others who try to be themselves in a world full of fear. May you soar, freer than you've ever been!

I'm so very sorry for your loss. It's terrible that people are still so intolerant. Your son, brother, or friend sounds like an amazing young man who had great potential. My thoughts are with you

When l read the story about Larry, I cried. It does not make any difference what your son chose in life, he was innocent of any wrongdoing. My tears are real, but l will try to honor his request and not cry. May GOD bring you peace

I was moved by this story. I did not know Larry, but this story is a sad refelction of the hate in out society. My thoughts and prayers are with Larry's family and friends. Let's all work to stop these hate crimes before more beautiful and innocent people are taken from our lives.

To Larry's parents, I am sorry for your loss. To Larry, I am sure you are in a much better place. I wish I could have known you. I am sure that there are a lot of "us" that wish we could have had your courage at your age. Peace to your family and friends. Let us all pray for tolerance and understanding.

I heard about the shooting the day after it happened and I wept. Larry to me is one of the most courageous young souls to walk the earth. It is very rare that teens are comfortable in their own skin when they fall within what society deems "normal". For Larry to embrace who he was and never be ashamed of that, he truly is my hero. It breaks my heart that something so simple and innocent is threatening enough to another person that they had to take his life. I cannot tell you how amazed I am at what a wonderful son you raised and how sorry I am that you were robbed of seeing him become a man. Larry will be in my heart forever.
