I am terribly sorry to hear what happened to Larry. What happened to him was utterly disgusting, and my condolences go out to the King Family. Staten Island Technical High School, and the organization I work for, Community Health Action of Staten Island are hosting a "Remembering Lawrence King" event out here. I sincerly believe that all schools should have a mandatory LGBT Awareness Day, educating students and faculty that although you don't NEED to accept everyone's sexual orientation or gender expression (although it would be wonderful), you must tolerate the fact that not every two people are the same. It pains me so much to hear about these things happening.

First of all i want to say im sorry for your loss, i can't even begin to think what you all are going through right now. It really is a shame that larry died a such young age, specially over being who he really was. I found out about him over youtube, and saw a video in honor to him that literally brought me to tears. He seemed like such a sweet kid full of life and hopes. It is ridiculous that being in the year 2008 we still find cases like this, just when we think being gay is finally being accepted we take two steps back and encounter this. Being a lesbian myself it really just hits so close to home. I hope that his story makes ignorant people out there rethink their views and helps them educate their children with integrity and equality. The world has enough war and violence, and our children shouldn't carry it. God bless you all.

Found out about this on youtube, though I think it did make the news here in NZ. I'm still blown away by the strangeness and tragedy of what happened to Larry. I hope Larry's family, friends and community receive support 10-fold to what they have given up in Larry.

I am deeply sadden to hear about this horrific incident and even sadder to say that i only found out about it on 3/19/08 on the logo channel and i watch the news everyday. We all need to stand up and be bold and heard just like Lawrence was, i'm a straight woman, but have more than enough anger as if i was a wounded gay child, he didn't deserve this, no one does, he was a child with a life a head of him, how dare that child think he has the right to take someone's child from this world, we won't let Lawrence's senseless murder go away in vain, for we have to let him live on in the fight for the rest of the community that people shun.

I found out about Larry through YouTube and it shocked and saddened me so much. It's awful that things like this go on,especially in a country that's supposedly accepting of everyone. I admire Larry greatly for being honest about who he really is.Sometimes i find that hard to do myself I'm sorry for his families loss and maybe one day things will change in terms of discrimination.
