Larry, I did not know you. But I wept for you, as I remember my being persecuted in school as a gay child, myself. I know how you felt, being mistreated because of who you were. I am with you in my thoughts. I am a 65 year old man, and sadly, understanding of gay people has not changed much over the years. Perhaps your death will make the world a better place for other gay children, so that they will not be so mistreated as you and I were by those who failed to compassionately understand us. Rest in peace dear Larry. God bless.

God Bless You all. I was deeply saddened to read about Larry's death. It is a terrible shame that in 2008 we still, as a culture and a society, will not allow people to be themselves. Your child, grandchild, nephew, friend, whatever he is to you, now flies with the angels. You are in my prayers.

I can't believe that a crime so hai nous like that still happens now days. We need to stand up in front of atrocity like that.

I hope your family can somehow find peace and comfort. Larry's tragic passing has shown that we need to start loving each other more no matter how different we may seem. God bless!

Like thousands of other people, I saw Ellen share your family's tragedy on her talk show. I am so, so sorry for your loss and pray for wisdom and direction during such a difficult time. You all are on the heart's and mind's of Whitworth University's gay community.

I have been gay since the age of four. I know what it is like to be teased, taunted and beatened. But, what happened to Larry was wrong and uncalled for. My heart goes out to you Larry. You will be remembered by many forever and your Love will shower us for all eternity. May God guide you home where you can be an Angel and watch over us all.
