I am sorry for your loss. Larry was taken too soon from this world. If we start today to teach our children that we are all different, and still human beings, maybe something like this will not happen again. The children are our future. What are we doing wrong today that our children have learned to HATE???

I am so sorry this happened. I am so sorry to know this is what the world is becoming, full of hate. A gay friend of mine sent me the video of the Ellen DeGeneres show where she talked about this horrific story. I have an aunt and a couple of friends who are openly gay..kudos to them. May good memories of Larry always stay in your hearts. I am so sorry.

My little sister died in January from a long illness, but I cannot imagine her being murdered by some animal. I am gay and have served in the US Marines and Iraq and have been in that sort of environment and it is shameless what passes for a free and "Christian" nation when we still don't have laws to specifically protect gays, lesbians and transgender. I also am angry at the pitiful amount of air time that Larry's death got on our piss-poor news. Larry I am sorry that we, that I have failed you. I hope that your memory helps your family to endure the days ahead.

I am so sorry this happened to you. I cant imagine losing a child, let alone to something so hateful. The killer should be punished for what he did not made to look like a victim. Everyone is trying to give an excuse(the card) to justfy the hate in the killer's eyes and heart. My condolenses to larry's family.

I am so sorry that this horrible thing happened. Its such a tragedy that some homophobic idiot decided to end someones life. And this is made even sadder because Larry must have cared a lot about the kid that shot him. Thats just not right. My best friend is openly gay, and I couldn't imagine what I would do if this happened to him. So rest in peace Larry. Heaven is there for you.

I am so very sorry for this terrible tragedy. I now live in Las Vegas, but was raised in Oxnard. And I went to E. O. Green junior high in the early 80's. I hit close to home for me. I remember going to that school back then, I am very sad to see it hasn't gotten any better, its gotten worse. Why did the administration not do anything about this bullying?? How did a 14 year old child get a gun into the school??? What happened to metal detectors?? Where was Brandon's father when he was taking that gun from his obviously unlocked gun collection?? What did his parents teach him at home to make him such a cold blooded bigot?? There is more than one guilty party here.

There are obviously no words to express the immense pain you have to endure with the tragic loss of your beautiful Larry. He did not ask nor wish to become a catalyst for society to examine its hate and loathing for people who are gay. He was just a boy living his truth and expressing his own innocent care to another human being. We pray that your family will find the strength and determination to cope with this senseless tragedy and we pray that all of us in society will shout loudly in his name to end this unacceptable and needless violence. We hope you can take solace in knowing that Larry is remembered by millions of people and his short life will be an inspiration to millions more. "It is not how long the flower blooms, but how beautifully"... Our deepest condolences, Eva and Janine

You can see from Larry's pictures how much he was loved by his family. I hope you realize what wonderful parents you must be to have raised such a brave boy. I wish you all the strength in the world.
