Larry, I believe that you are with the Lord now. Can you whisper to God to help us here to eliminate hatred and instead love flourish to each and everyone. I am deeply hurt for what happened to you. I have two daughters and I hope I will raise them in the right way especially the acceptance of gay or lesbian people. They are also human and should be respected. They are in no way, any less, than the normal gender of being a man or a woman. My condolences to family and true friends of Larry.Rest assured that you are included in our prayers.

My heart goes out to this family. Please remember that regardless of a lot of ignorance, our God is a LOVING God and Larry is with him with now making him smile because of how proud he is of him.

i have always said that my being gay was never my problem but the other person's problem...and it hurts to think that a beautiful being like larry could be taken from us because of the other person's problem... it makes me sad and makes me think that i am not doing enough for the next generation... you always think that the times are changing...then it hits you... peace be with you friend...que dios te bendiga!

I want to share my deepest condolances with Larry's family for your loss. I only just heard the news yesterday. Larry knew who he was and was not afraid to share himself with the world. That is more than most people at any age can say. What a vibrant young man he seemed to be, a gift to those around him. As a High School teacher I vow to stop anti-gay bullies and support our gay youth in whatever way I can. I do this in remmberance of Larry.

I'm so sorry this happened, but I'm so glad that Larry had the love of his friends and family for who he was.

I came upon the article while doing work for a paper on predjudice at LACC. This will be a part of it. The world seems a sad place to me today.

This world would be better if there were more people like Lawrence in it. I'm very saddened by what we've all lost. "I want to hold you in my arms. And as your soul got shot of its box of flesh, to understand, as you have already done, the wit of eternity, its gift of unhinged release, tearing through the darkness of it's knell."

Such a horrendous tragedy! My heart goes out to Larry's family and friends. For him to have lived so openly and courageously is truly awe-inspiring. If only all the hateful people could learn from this tragedy, and young gay people no longer had to fear violence, hate and retribution just for being themselves. Rest in peace, Larry.

What a great example of a man. You lived your life openly and honestly. If we were all as strong as you, Larry, this world would be a better place to live. Rest in peace. Let your loved ones' spirits fly.
