Having taught middle school for over 25 years I can truly appreciate what a unique individual Lawrence really was, to stand up for who he was. His death has affected me in ways that will take years for me to comprehend. May his life not have been in vain.

This young spirit will be remembered as one of God's angels on loan to us for a season. Now he is back with the Lord, teaching other angels how to love. God Bless the family. I pray that the Holy Spirit will remain with you and comfort you through the pain. Know that you will see your beloved again some day.

I didn't know you Larry but your story has touched me deeply. I hope this never happens to anyone again and I am so sorry this happened to you. God bless you and yours Larry. You will never again be hurt by ignorant people for being yourself.

I am so saddened by what has happened to this brave child, with the beautiful smile. He was obviously happy....a credit to everyone who loved him. God bless you, Larry, and all your family. I love your blue butterflies.... and you do, too, 'cos I've seen you proudly presenting your creepy-crawlies. Rest in peace, little sweetheart.

So sad to lose such a sweet boy. I hope that parents/educators use this tragedy as a lesson to teach acceptance of others. My prayers and thoughts are with Larry and his family.

What a tragic loss to us all - as many have expressed here, I am deeply saddened and enraged that the life of this courageous and inspirational young soul was taken so violently. My heartfelt sympathies to those who loved and cared about Larry. I will remember him by sharing his story with my teacher education students.

As I look at the pictures of this beautiful young man, I am saddened by a life lost. I applaud him for his courage. I will never know him as many of us won't. But I will pray for his spirit to live on. NEVER FORGET.
