I cannot express in words how sad and angry I feel about the murder of this gay young man. When are people going to stop harassment, verbal abuse and violence when they witness it? Why did it take Larry's murder by one of his "tormentors" to have teachers, parents, legislators and students themselves confront what he was subjected to on a daily basis? I am so sorry this beautiful boy was not protected, not given a safe learning environment and that those in authority did not intervene to stop the harassment and violence against him. Larry was so brave to walk through the world being himself. I pray that the work I do will make a difference. This Saturday at our LGBTQ youth group we will light a candle for Larry and remember that sexual orientation and gender identity diversity should be embraced not annihilated Larry did not have to die. Shame on those who did nothing to help him.

Thanks, Larry, for being your wonderful vibrant self and for giving others similar courage. Thanks to all who've left their memories of Larry here -- I feel as though I knew him, after seeing the pictures and reading these comments. God give us grace to love all those who are different in any way...and comfort all who are in pain...especially this family and these friends.

Larry, you were taken way too soon. God has known you since before you were born and loved you just the way you are - you are now an angel.
