one year later and larry is still on my mind. I am holding a vigil this spring in memory of larry and in hopes to call more attention to lgbt teen violence. i think it's very important that we show our support and tolerance, though larry isn't necessarilly around to see it, because we never want anything like this to happen again. i can identify with larry because i am 15 and an "out" teen. we need to step up and protect those that can't necessarilly protect themselves. we need to show the world that the name Lawrence Forbes King is not something to forget. we need to teach out kids, peers, relatives and even superiors to become tolerant and respectful of all genders, sexualities and forms of self expression. i sincerely hope the king family supports their son even after his death now more than ever its important to stand behind who he was. Let his name echo in every mind, every different colored body, every loving heart and every single shred of willingness to change.
